Wedding Dress Shopping in Las Vegas: Everything a Bride Needs to Know Before Saying Yes

So, you're engaged, Congratulations! Now comes one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning: finding your wedding dress.

If you're searching for a wedding dress in Las Vegas, you have plenty of bridal salons and designers to choose from. But before you start booking appointments, there are a few things we think every bride should know.

At Couture Bride, we've been helping Las Vegas brides find their wedding gowns since 2006. After 20 years in the bridal industry, we've learned that every bride's dress-shopping experience is different. Some brides walk in knowing exactly what they want. Others have no idea where to start. Some find their gown on the first appointment, while others need a little more time.

There is no “right” way to shop for your wedding dress. Our job is to help you find the gown that feels right for you.

When Should I Start Wedding Dress Shopping?

We recommend beginning your wedding dress search about 12 months before your wedding date. That gives you plenty of time to explore different styles, find your gown, place your order, receive it, and complete alterations without feeling rushed. But don't panic if your wedding is much sooner!

We work with brides on all kinds of timelines and have a wonderful selection of Ready-to-Wed gowns. Many of the designers we work with also offer gowns that are already in stock, which can be especially helpful for shorter engagements.

This is Vegas—we can make it work!

How Much Does a Wedding Dress Cost in Las Vegas?

Wedding gown prices can vary quite a bit depending on the designer, fabric, construction, and details of the gown.

At Couture Bride, our wedding gowns range from approximately $1,800 to $10,000, giving our brides a wonderful variety of designers, styles, and price points to explore. Whether you're looking for something more budget-friendly or a luxury designer gown, we believe you should be able to find a beautiful wedding dress that works for your budget.

One of the best things you can do before your appointment is have an honest conversation with your bridal stylist about your budget. It allows your stylist to focus on gowns that make sense for you and helps make your shopping experience more enjoyable.

Do I Need an Appointment to Shop for a Wedding Dress?

Yes! Couture Bride is an appointment-only bridal salon, so appointments are required to shop for your wedding gown.

And there's good reason for that.

Because we work exclusively by appointment, our team is not always in the store throughout the day. When you book an appointment, you know one of our bridal stylists will be here and ready to give you personalized attention.

Even better? Our bridal appointments are complimentary. When you book, we do ask for a credit card to be kept on file. There is a $50 fee for no-shows or appointments that aren't cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. As long as you keep your appointment or give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, there is no charge.

You can book your appointment directly through our website. If you have questions or need to reach us, you can also message us on Instagram or TikTok at @CoutureBrideLV.

What Should I Bring to My Wedding Dress Appointment?

Honestly? Just yourself! If you've saved photos of wedding gowns, necklines, fabrics, or styles you love, bring them along. They can be helpful for your stylist to understand what you're drawn to. But our biggest piece of advice is to come with an open mind. We've seen it happen countless times: a bride walks in convinced she wants one particular style and falls in love with something completely different.

That's okay!

You don't have to know exactly what you want before you walk through our doors. That's part of what your bridal stylist is there for.

How Many Wedding Dresses Should I Try On?

There is no magic number. Some brides find their gown after trying on just a few dresses. Others need to see several different silhouettes before they know what feels right. Don't put pressure on yourself to find your dress within a certain number of gowns. At Couture Bride, we want you to have the opportunity to explore, compare, ask questions, and really see yourself in different styles. Our goal isn't to rush you into a decision. It's to help you feel confident when you find the one.

What Size Wedding Dress Will I Wear?

This is one of the biggest surprises for many brides: bridal sizing is not the same as everyday clothing sizing. Your wedding dress size may be different—sometimes significantly different—from the size you normally wear.

At Couture Bride, our in-store sample gowns are primarily available in sizes 8–16, with some styles available outside of that range. While we don't have an extensive plus-size sample collection, we are committed to helping every bride find a gown she feels beautiful and confident in. Our experienced stylists can help you explore the designers and styles available and determine which options may work best for you.

And please don't let the number inside the dress take over the experience. It is simply a number on a gown—not a reflection of you or your body.

How Many People Should I Bring Wedding Dress Shopping?

Bring the people whose opinions you genuinely value and who will make the experience fun. You don't need to bring a huge group to have a successful appointment. In fact, sometimes a smaller group makes it easier to hear your own voice and focus on how you feel in the gown.

Your wedding dress is about you. Bring the people who know you, support you, and will help make the experience something you'll remember for years to come.

What Happens at a Wedding Dress Appointment?

Every bridal appointment is a little different because every bride is different.

We'll talk with you about your wedding, your venue, your vision, your style, your budget, and what you've been dreaming about—or what you think you've been dreaming about! Then we'll start pulling gowns and trying different silhouettes, necklines, fabrics, and details.

Maybe you know immediately that you love an A-line. Maybe you discover that you actually love a fitted gown. Maybe you thought you wanted something simple and end up falling for lace. That's the fun part.

At Couture Bride, we don't put a limit on how many gowns you can try. We want you to have the opportunity to explore and find what makes you feel amazing.

What If I Need My Wedding Dress Quickly?

Don't worry. You're in Vegas!

Couture Bride offers a selection of Ready-to-Wed gowns, and many of our designers carry gowns in stock that can accommodate shorter timelines. If your wedding is only a few months—or even weeks—away, let us know when you book your appointment. We'll work with you to explore the options that make sense for your timeline.

Our goal is to help you find a beautiful gown without making your timeline feel impossible.

What About Wedding Dress Alterations?

Finding your gown is just the beginning. At Couture Bride, we pride ourselves on being there for our brides from the “yes” moment to the “I do” moment.

Our experienced seamstress team provides in-house wedding dress alterations to help make sure your gown fits beautifully and feels just right for your wedding day. Alterations are an additional fee and are priced based on the work needed for each individual gown.

We also believe in being realistic with our brides about alterations. Every gown and every bride is different, so our team will talk with you about what your dress needs and help guide you through the process.

What If I Don't Know What Style of Wedding Dress I Want?

That's completely normal. You don't need to arrive at your appointment with a Pinterest board, a specific designer, and a detailed list of everything you want. Sometimes the best place to start is simply trying things on.

Our experienced bridal stylists can help you explore different silhouettes and details and pay attention to what you like—and what you don't like—as you go.

You may be surprised by what makes you feel like a bride.

Should I Look at Wedding Dresses Online Before My Appointment?

Absolutely! It's helpful to get an idea of designers, silhouettes, and details you're drawn to.

Because our collections are always changing, one of the best ways to see what's new at Couture Bride Las Vegas is through our social media. Follow @CoutureBrideLV on Instagram and TikTok for new arrivals, real Couture Bride brides, gown inspiration, and a peek inside the salon.

Just remember: online inspiration is a starting point, not a rulebook. A gown can look completely different on your body than it does in a photograph.

Don't Forget the Finishing Touches

Once you've found your wedding gown, you can start thinking about the details that complete your bridal look. Couture Bride offers a beautiful selection of veils and bridal accessories, from classic and timeless to romantic and statement-making. Sometimes the perfect veil is what takes a gown from “I love this dress” to “This is my wedding dress.”

What Should I Look for in a Las Vegas Bridal Salon?

Look for a bridal salon where you feel comfortable being yourself. You should feel listened to—not pressured. You should feel like your stylist is paying attention to what you like, what you don't like, your budget, your timeline, and your vision. And you should feel comfortable asking questions.

At Couture Bride, we've spent 20 years helping brides navigate this process. We know that finding your wedding gown is about much more than putting on pretty dresses. It's about having someone who knows bridal guide you through the process, answer your questions honestly, and be there when you finally say:

“Yes, this is my dress.”
